Hakone - 2014
![]() The photos of Hakone, a city in the mountains. Hakone is famous mostly for its hot springs and for sure, these are great! They have a lot of hotels, both western hotels and more traditional Japanese ones. It's a touristic area, so it can be a bit pricey, but the hot springs are definitely worth it! Also, the surrounding area is very nice to visit. They have an aerial tram with great overview of the region. You can cross the lake on an old-fashion-looking ship, and there are a lot of places for hiking! | ![]() |
Kyoto & Nara - 2014
![]() I took all of these photos around Kyoto. Kyoto has some really beautiful places, and I highly recommend to visit it. You better like temples and shrines, but it's worth it. The Fushimi Inari (the long path of Torii gates) is really impressive, and I would suggest you do it at the end of the day so you can experience it during the day and during the night. I did not put any night photos of it here, but it's something to do! Some photos are from the city of Nara. Look for the deers! There are a lot of deers there running freely around temples and waiting for tourists to give them the food they can buy from all the local vendors. It's very nice to visit and there is this huge statue of Buddha, very impressive. Also, we were lucky to be there for a festival at night with a very well lit temple, traditional dance and fancy decorations! | ![]() |
Tokyo, Yokohama, Kamakura - 2014
![]() All of these photos were taken in the Tokyo area. The first few photos are from Yokohama, a very large city next to Tokyo, where you can find the Cup Noodles museum :) Then I put some photos of Tokyo, only a small subset of what I took, but it should be representative of different aspects of the city. Finally, at the end there are pictures of Kamakura, a very nice city full of temples with beautiful gardens and featuring a big statue of Buddha.
